## Mission
Empirically stress-test the remediated grid pathfinding engine (`grid_pathfinder.js`):
1. Re-test Long-Range DDA Raycasting:
Run `node --expose-gc tools/perf/stress_test_grid_pathfinder.js` and custom raycast stress tests across rays spanning 70–120 tiles on a 120x90 grid.
Verify that rays with intervening walls return `false` 100% of the time (0 false positives).
2. Re-test A* Path Reconstruction Buffer:
Verify that on long paths (e.g. 80-tile open corridor), the first returned waypoint `outX[0], outY[0]` is immediately adjacent to the starting tile (`dist <= 1.5` tiles), eliminating waypoint disconnection.
3. Verify Zero-Heap Allocation:
Confirm 0 GC events over 5,000 rapid pathfinding queries.
4. Non-regression of existing test suites:
   - `pytest tests/unit/test_encounter_zones.py -v`
   - `pytest tests/unit/test_tile_collision.py -v`
   - `pytest tests/e2e/test_poe2_map_system_e2e.py -v`

Write `handoff.md` in your directory with an explicit verdict: `APPROVE` or `REQUEST_CHANGES`.
Send a message back to parent when complete.
