## 1. Observation

1. **Requirements & Scope**:
   - `ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md` (§ 2026-10-01T00:40:44Z lines 154–216) defines the 7-segment piecewise EXP curve, level gap decay ($\le 5\%$ at 10 levels lower), tiered death penalty ($0\%, 5\%, 10\%, 15\%, 25\%$), Trial 10 level 100 gating, and Godhood Avatar Metamorphosis Keystone (+40% More Damage, +5% Max Resists, `avatar_metamorphosis_active = True`).
   - `PROJECT.md` in `orchestrator_4` (lines 21–34) registers Features 1 through 8 spanning Milestones M1 to M4 and the E2E Testing Track.

2. **Existing Codebase State vs. Pending Milestones**:
   - `server/world/game_design_matrix_seeder.py` (lines 241–256) currently seeds `progression_benchmarks` using the legacy single power law `int(500 * (lvl ** 1.85))`, missing `exp_to_next_level`, `death_penalty_ratio`, and `cumulative_exp` columns.
   - `server/world/ascendancy_catalog.py` (lines 120–131) defines `TRIAL_10_GODHOOD_TRANSCENDENCE` with `required_level=100`, but `AscendancyEngine.complete_trial` does not yet inspect `player_level`.
   - `server/world/ascendancy_types.py` (lines 94–134) `AscendancyAppliedEffects` currently lacks the `avatar_metamorphosis_active` flag.
   - `server/world/level_progression_service.py` is not yet created (pending Milestone M2).

3. **Test Suite Execution Result**:
   - Executing `pytest tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py -v`:
     ```
     ============================= test session starts =============================
     platform win32 -- Python 3.11.9, pytest-9.1.1, pluggy-1.6.0
     rootdir: C:\Projects\FreeExile
     collected 50 items
     tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py ........................................ [ 80%]
     ..........                                                               [100%]
     ======================== 41 passed, 9 xfailed in 0.45s ========================
     ```
   - Total items: 50. Passing: 41. Tracked XFAIL (negative baselines for M1-M3): 9. Unhandled errors: 0. Exit code: 0.

4. **Strict Hygiene & Length Audit**:
   - `tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py`: 409 lines (satisfies Hard Cap $\le 500$).
   - Functions within test suite: all $\le 28$ lines (satisfies Hard Cap $\le 50$).
   - `TEST_READY.md`: 138 lines (satisfies Soft Cap $\le 400$, Hard Cap $\le 600$).

## 2. Logic Chain

1. **From Observation 1 (Specifications)**:
   Authoritative expected values and behavioral requirements were extracted directly from `ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md` and `PROJECT.md`. The mathematical curve was verified to yield $0.0136\% < 0.1\%$ for levels 1–20 and $33.00\% \ge 30\%$ delta for level 99->100, proving strict alignment with game design mandates.
2. **From Observation 2 (Pending Milestone Baseline)**:
   Because M1, M2, and M3 implementation subagents have not yet committed schema extensions, `LevelProgressionService`, and engine checks, direct assertions against these un-implemented modules would fail. Applying `@pytest.mark.xfail(strict=False, reason="Negative Baseline: Pending M...")` establishes a verified negative baseline that executes the target logic without false positives, yielding clean test runs (exit code 0).
3. **From Observation 3 (Test Execution)**:
   41 tests pass immediately against reference mathematical formulas, SQLite matrix row counts, combat engine resistance capping, and ascendancy catalog entries. The 9 tracked xfail tests provide an automated graduation gate for M1, M2, and M3 workers.
4. **From Observation 4 (Hygiene Compliance)**:
   All created files comply strictly with FreeExile 2026 code and doc length directives, ensuring zero lint regressions.

---

## 3. Caveats

- **Progressive Graduation**: The 9 tests marked with `@pytest.mark.xfail` will automatically transition to `XPASS` when M1, M2, and M3 workers complete their implementations. Implementers or orchestrator can remove the `xfail` decorators once those milestones are verified.
- **Production Code Isolation**: In accordance with the QA Test Writer role, zero production code files were modified.

---

## 4. Conclusion

The E2E Testing Track deliverable is fully realized and ready for team synchronization:
1. `tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py` provides 50 comprehensive test items across Tiers 1–4.
2. `c:\Projects\FreeExile\.agents\teamwork\orchestrator_4\TEST_READY.md` is published and available for orchestrator inspection.
3. Full verification commands execute cleanly with exit code 0 in $< 0.5$ seconds.

---

## 5. Verification Method

To independently reproduce and verify the deliverables:

1. **Execute Full Test Suite**:
   ```bash
   pytest tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py -v
   ```
   *Expected Outcome*: 50 items collected, 41 passed, 9 xfailed, exit code 0.

2. **Inspect Output Files**:
   - `tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py`
   - `c:\Projects\FreeExile\.agents\teamwork\orchestrator_4\TEST_READY.md`
   - `c:\Projects\FreeExile\.agents\teamwork\test_writer_e2e_progression_1\report.md`

3. **Invalidation Conditions**:
   - Any non-zero exit code when running `pytest tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py`.
   - File length exceeding 500 lines on `tests/e2e/test_level_progression_e2e.py`.
