# Handoff Report — worker_hygiene_remediation

## 1. Observation
- Baseline audit before remediation:
  - Command: `python tools/lint/check_code_and_doc_hygiene.py --strict`
  - Result: Failed with exit code 1.
  - Verbatim violation:

  - Output: Clean exit code 0.

## 2. Logic Chain
1. By AGENTS.md § 10, code logic files must not exceed 500 lines (Hard Cap) and should ideally be <= 350 lines (Soft Cap).
2. `tests/unit/test_challenger_cocos_kinematics_stress.ts` contained the test harness (`StressResult`, `record`), mock collision grid (`SimpleGrid`), and 5 full stress test scenarios in a single monolithic file of 566 lines.
3. We extracted the test harness, `SimpleGrid`, Scenario 1 (`runScenario1_ZeroMomentum`), and Scenario 2 (`runScenario2_WallSliding`) into `tests/unit/kinematics_stress_helpers.ts`.
4. In `tests/unit/test_challenger_cocos_kinematics_stress.ts`, we retained scenarios 3, 4, 5, imported the helpers and scenarios 1 and 2, and executed the unified test runner.
5. Line counts post-modularization:
   - `tests/unit/kinematics_stress_helpers.ts`: 301 lines (<= 350 lines Soft Cap)
   - `tests/unit/test_challenger_cocos_kinematics_stress.ts`: 333 lines (<= 350 lines Soft Cap)
6. All 27 stress tests execute identically and continue passing with zero regressions.
7. `python tools/lint/check_code_and_doc_hygiene.py --strict` now reports 0 Hard Cap errors across the entire repository and exits cleanly with code 0.

## 3. Caveats
No caveats. All 27 checks remain intact, type checking passes, and the hygiene gate passes.

## 4. Conclusion
The file length violation in `tests/unit/test_challenger_cocos_kinematics_stress.ts` has been remediated. Both the main runner file (333 lines) and the companion helper file `tests/unit/kinematics_stress_helpers.ts` (301 lines) are strictly compliant with the Soft Cap (<= 350 lines). The entire repository now passes `check_code_and_doc_hygiene.py --strict` with exit code 0.

## 5. Verification Method
Run the following commands from repository root (`c:\Projects\FreeExile`):

1. Verify empirical test pass (27/27 checks):
