  - Upfront validation in evaluate_scene verified authentic (existence, non-emptiness, decodability, frame count checks; zero bypasses).
  - Severe defect penalty in evaluate_shot verified authentic math (deterministic deductions, hard RETAKE_SHOT override).
  - _find_character_portrait verified across 15 canonical roles + directory scan.
  - _check_audio_stream verified using ffprobe -of json and json.loads parsing.
  - Bilateral and multi-character safeguards in production_orchestrator.py verified authentic with zero hardcoded test bypasses.
- [x] Ran 4 test suites on physical disk:
  - `python -m pytest tests/test_critic_gate.py -v`: 30 passed in 11.17s.
  - `python -m pytest tests/test_m1_challenger2_probe.py -v`: 41 passed in 0.58s.
