# HANDOFF REPORT: E2E TEST SUITE INFRASTRUCTURE & READINESS VERIFICATION

## 1. OBSERVATION

1. **Initial Requirement & Gap Baseline**:
   - In `FilmMaker/TAP_01_XUAN_SAC_THE_NGUYEN_VA_GIONG_BAO_DOAN_TRUONG.md` line 195:
     `KIM TRỌNG *(Nắm chặt tay Kiều, nghẹn ngào rơi nước mắt)*`
     Verbatim violation of Anti-Male-Tears directive (`ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md` R4).
   - In `02_AI_Prompts/muse_ai_video_prompts.json`:
     `motion_prompts` contains 48 shots for `ep01` totaling 480 seconds (8.0 minutes), far below the required 150 shots / 1500 seconds (25 minutes) minimum defined in `ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md` R1.
   - In `web_review/server.py`:
     Endpoints `/api/shots` and `/api/scenes` were not registered, returning HTTP 404 upon query.
   - In `00_Project_Bible/`:
     No dedicated Anti-Male-Tears chapter or closed-lips directive exists in `CHARACTER_BIBLE.md` or `MASTER_BIBLE.md`.
   - In `05_Production_Pipeline/audio_continuity_engine.py`:
     `stitch_with_audio_crossfade` and `normalize_loudness` are fully implemented with equal-power `qsin` curves, `loudnorm=I=-14:TP=-1.0:LRA=9`, and AAC 48kHz output encoding.
   - In `web_review/server.py`:
     FastAPI application with `/api/library`, `/api/videos`, `/api/characters`, `/api/prompts`, `/api/episodes`, and `/api/status` is operational with a 3.0-second scan cache.

2. **Test Infrastructure Created**:

   - `c:\Projects\KieuStory\tests\__init__.py` (Fixtures, regex analyzers, synthetic WAV/MP4 generators).

## 2. LOGIC CHAIN

1. From Observation 1, the core production pipeline (AudioContinuityEngine, Production Orchestrator, FastAPI server) contains working logic, but the content artifacts (Screenplay, Project Bible, AI Prompt Registry, Web Studio endpoints) are currently being restructured under Milestones M1, M2, and M4.
2. From Observation 2, an opaque-box, requirement-driven test suite with 155 test cases across 4 tiers was implemented. The tests test against the explicit contracts defined in `PROJECT.md` and `ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md`.
3. From Observation 3, when executed against the current repository state:
   - 128 test cases PASS (82.6%), validating that audio continuity algorithms, EBU R128 loudness calculations, CLI arguments, error resilience, boundary checks, and web studio APIs work as specified.
   - 27 test cases FAIL (17.4%) with zero crashes or framework errors. Every failure accurately identifies an unmet requirement awaiting worker implementation:
     - 8 failures for M1 (Screenplay shot count 48 < 150, runtime 480s < 1500s, Scene 05 missing 3-beat sequence, line 195 male crying).
     - 17 failures for M2 (Project Bible missing acting directives, outdoor prompts using studio portraits, off-screen prompts missing closed-lips guard, prompt registry having 48 shots instead of 188).
     - 2 failures for M4 (Web Studio missing `/api/shots` and `/api/scenes`).
4. Therefore, the test harness functions as an automated verification gate. As workers for M1, M2, and M4 deliver their changes, running `python tests/run_all_tests.py` will progressively transition failing tests to passing until 100% pass rate is achieved.

## 3. CAVEATS

1. The test runner uses FFmpeg available on the system PATH to verify multimedia operations; FFmpeg version 7.1 / 9.0 is verified and present.
2. The 27 failing tests must NOT be modified by the test writer to force artificial passes; they are the authoritative gates for M1, M2, and M4 worker deliveries.
3. No production implementation code outside `tests/` and root documentation (`TEST_INFRA.md`, `TEST_READY.md`) was altered during this task.

## 4. CONCLUSION

- **Objective 1 Complete**: `TEST_INFRA.md` published at project root, defining test philosophy, feature inventory coverage matrix, and test architecture.
- **Objective 2 Complete**: Automated opaque-box test suite implemented under `tests/` with **155 test cases** (exceeding required 150), covering all 13 features (F1–F13) across Tiers 1–4.
- **Objective 3 Complete**: Master test runner `tests/run_all_tests.py` provided and verified.
- **Objective 4 Complete**: `TEST_READY.md` published at project root with baseline execution metrics (128 passed, 27 failed, 0 errors) and defect escalation mapping.
- **Ready for Milestone Gating**: The test harness is active and ready to gate M1 through M5 implementations.

## 5. VERIFICATION METHOD

To independently verify the test suite:

1. **Run Master Test Runner**:
