## 1. Observation

### 1.1 Source Code Authenticity & Remediation Verification
1. **`05_Production_Pipeline/production_orchestrator.py`**:
   - Lines 105–110:

     The buggy string replacement `ffmpeg_exe.replace("ffmpeg", "ffprobe")` has been completely eliminated. `ffprobe_exe` resolves directly via `get_ffprobe()`.
   - Execution verification:
     * `get_ffprobe()` resolves to: `C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WinGet\Packages\Gyan.FFmpeg_Microsoft.Winget.Source_8wekyb3d8bbwe\ffmpeg-9.0.2-full_build\bin\ffprobe.exe`
     * `os.path.exists(ffprobe_exe)` evaluates to `True`.
     * Return code of `[ffprobe_exe, "-version"]` is `0` (`ffprobe version 9.0.2-full_build-www.gyan.dev`).
   - Concat routines: **Zero occurrences** of OpenCV `cv2.VideoWriter` in `05_Production_Pipeline/production_orchestrator.py`, `05_Production_Pipeline/assemble_ep01_feature.py`, or `05_Production_Pipeline/audio_continuity_engine.py`. All concatenations use FFmpeg `filter_complex concat` preserving 100% AAC audio.

2. **`tools/update_banana_turnaround_prompts.py` & `tools/manage_turnaround_sheets.py`**:

### 1.4 Integrity Forensics Checks
- **Hardcoded test return values**: AST analysis of all production scripts (`production_orchestrator.py`, `audio_continuity_engine.py`, `assemble_ep01_feature.py`) revealed 0 single-statement dummy functions (`pass`, `return <constant>`, or placeholder stubs).
- **Facade implementations**: 0 dummy mocks or test-specific condition gates detected in production code.
- **Pre-populated test logs / fabrication**: 0 fabricated logs or attestation files found bypassing testing. All test suites dynamically compute synthetic media, probe actual audio/video containers via FFmpeg/ffprobe, and measure EBU R128 loudness metrics.

## 2. Logic Chain

1. **Defect 1 Invariant Remediation**:
   - In Iteration 1, `test_character_portraits_unharmed` failed because 55 untracked turnaround sheets existed in `04_Assets/characters/`, causing `total_char_files == 62` assertion failure (found 117).
   - In Iteration 2, observation 1.2 confirmed that moving the 55 files to `04_Assets/turnaround_sheets/` restored `04_Assets/characters/` to exactly 62 files matching `git ls-files`.
   - Tooling scripts and `02_AI_Prompts/gemini_banana_prompts.json` were permanently redirected to `04_Assets/turnaround_sheets/`, preventing future re-pollution.
   - `tests/test_m2_hygiene.py` now executes 6/6 PASS stably (verified across 5 repeated runs).

2. **Defect 2 Fallback Probe Fix**:
   - In Iteration 1, `production_orchestrator.py:1170` used `ffmpeg_exe.replace("ffmpeg", "ffprobe")`, which corrupted Gyan Winget paths to non-existent executables, hiding silent clip detection under swallowed exceptions.
   - In Iteration 2, observation 1.1 confirmed that `production_orchestrator.py` now imports and invokes `get_ffprobe()` directly, resolving the genuine Windows executable.
   - When clips have no audio stream (`-an`), `ffprobe` accurately returns `codec_type != audio`, triggering the silence generator `aevalsrc=0:d=10.0:s=48000:c=stereo[a{i}]` and preventing FFmpeg stream specifier crashes.
   - Tested and verified by `tests/test_adversarial_m4_audio_concat_probe.py` (5/5 PASS) and `tests/test_production_pipeline_m4.py::test_05_fallback_concat_with_silent_clip_without_crash` (PASS).

3. **Verification Invariant Adherence**:
   - All 99 tests across 7 suites pass with 100% success rate.
   - Zero permanent deletion: 184 legacy video files (2.09 GB) remain intact in `04_Assets/archive/ep01_legacy_v1/`.
   - All 14 core character portraits are pristine and unaltered.
   - Zero OpenCV `cv2.VideoWriter` in video concat routines.

- **No caveats**: All defects identified in Iteration 1 have been remediated with production-grade logic. No bypasses or facades were introduced.

Milestone M4 Iteration 2 passes all forensic integrity checks. The work product is fully authentic, meets all architectural invariants from `ORIGINAL_REQUEST.md` and `PROJECT.md`, and is approved for Milestone M4 completion.
