1. **Resolution of Defect 1 (Character Invariant Restored)**:
   - Prior to remediation, `tests/test_m2_hygiene.py::test_character_portraits_unharmed` failed with `AssertionError: Total character assets altered! Expected 62, found 117`.
   - Observation 1.1 proves that `04_Assets/characters/` has returned to exactly 62 files.
   - `git status -s 04_Assets/characters/` and `git diff HEAD` are strictly empty, proving that no canonical character assets were modified, deleted, or corrupted.
   - Observation 1.1 confirms that all 14 core Ep01 character portraits in `CORE_EP01_CHARACTERS` and the other 48 files remain 100% valid, >500kB, and decode without error in PIL.
   - Observation 1.2 confirms that the 55 untracked files were safely relocated to `04_Assets/turnaround_sheets/`.
2. **Resolution of Defect 2 (String Mutation Bug in Concat Probe)**:
   - In `05_Production_Pipeline/production_orchestrator.py:1170`, `ffmpeg_exe.replace("ffmpeg", "ffprobe")` caused `FileNotFoundError` on Gyan Winget builds.
   - Worker 2 replaced this with `audio_continuity_engine.get_ffprobe()`.
   - Observation 1.4 confirms that `test_05_fallback_concat_with_silent_clip_without_crash` in `test_production_pipeline_m4.py` and all 5 tests in `test_adversarial_m4_audio_concat_probe.py` pass without error.
   - Observation 1.4 confirms that `get_ffprobe()` resolves to the actual `ffprobe.exe` binary and executes with code 0.
3. **Episode Assembly Probe Validity**:
   - Running `production_orchestrator.py --assemble-episode ep01 --check` confirmed the orchestrator correctly detects scene status and exits cleanly without crashes.
   - Test 10 in `tests/test_challenger2_m4_empirical_probe.py` synthesized 3 lightweight test scenes and ran `assemble_episode_master` end-to-end with FFmpeg concat and two-pass EBU R128 normalization. The output file was probed and verified to have valid AAC 48kHz stereo audio, libx264 video, and sample-accurate duration.
4. **Conclusion Derivation**:
   - Since all asset invariants hold, all hygiene tests pass (6/6), all M4 tests pass (16/16), all adversarial probes pass, and episode assembly is robust, the criteria for Milestone M4 Iteration 2 are fully satisfied.
